Brand: Apis

The Apis AP-1 D is a highly regarded valve (tube) guitar amplifier produced by the Bulgarian brand Apis Audio. The "D" model, released in 2019, is an updated version of the popular AP-1 amplifier, which has been acclaimed by numerous guitar players and music professionals for its rich, warm, and dynamic sound. The AP-1 D features two ECC83 tubes in the preamp section and four EL34 or 6CA7 tubes in the poweramp section. The amp's output power can be switched between 15, 30, and 60 watts, allowing for versatility in various playing situations. One of the most significant enhancements made to the AP-1 D is the addition of a digital reverb module, which provides lush and atmospheric reverberation effects to the amplifier's sound. The reverb circuitry is housed in a separate dual-mono digitally controlled effects loop, ensuring its isolation from the amplifier's voltage and keeping the signal path clean. The AP-1 D also has an improved multiple output section, which offers a flexible range of impedance levels for connecting speakers, as well as a new pre-boost switch, providing users with additional tonal options. Moreover, the amp features a revised power supply with a new larger transformer, refining its low-end response and improving its overall reliability. All in all, the Apis AP-1 D maintains the classic tone and functionality of its predecessor while delivering significant improvements in sound quality, versatility, and functionality, making it an exceptional amplifier for both studio and live performances for guitarists who aim for a natural and impressive sound.
